We are a praying church surrendered to the truth of Jesus Christ, committed to wholeness, purpose and missional living. Our desire is that all people would discover a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, growing and maturing in their experience with Him. Our vision is to empower others to become strong, mature, Spirit-led disciples of Jesus Christ as we follow Christ in our own personal lives, connecting in community with each other.
We believe that prayer is communication with God and that He hears and responds to everyone. Prayer comes in many forms - time apart from everything else to speak to God, reading scripture and contemplation while listening for His direction, gathering together as a group to bring our requests before Him, or a simple cry of the lost and broken. We also see prayer as a life that is lived in communion with Him, not just a verbal action of speaking to the Creator. Prayer is the honest expression of a heart born out of belief and relationship. Prayer can be found in everything that we do.
here is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
We believe that the Church, filled with God’s Spirit, carries His presence in the world. We also believe the Church is people - not a building, program, or a mission statement. As a community of Christ-followers we live out community as we celebrate together, share together in generosity, and carry one another’s burdens. In compassion, we meet the needs of the hurting, lost and lonely. Unified together in Christ, we are diverse yet we are one - coming together to to learn with and from each other. The Church includes all generations. Every age group is significant.
I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me
Although we cannot capture The Truth in a sentence, we find its essence in the Triune God. The Father has revealed Himself through the Son by the Holy Spirit. Truth is a person. Truth is Jesus and the Truth sets us free.
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God - part of the triune Godhead of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He existed before Creation, yet became a man and dwelt as God with us. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, blameless death and His bodily resurrection. We are forgiven, made free from sin and rescued from hell and death by the shed blood of Jesus. Until His return we have been given the Holy Spirit to comfort, guide, lead, correct, sanctify, and equip us with spiritual gifts, empowering us to live Christ-like. We believe God has not abandoned the world but has partnered with us in the restoration of all creation.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
We are completely integrated creations; mind, body, and soul, emotions and experiences. If any part of us suffers or is unhealthy it affects our entire being, and those around us. When we embrace the salvation Jesus Christ offers us, he redeems every part of us. The Bible - also called the Word of God - gives us instruction how to find peace and wholeness in every area of life, revealing to us the Person of Christ and the freedom we find in Him. Its only through the grace that He freely gives us where we can find true healing for ourselves, each other, our relationships, and all of creation. We believe that God works all things together for good for those who follow His purpose and plan for their lives.
For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
We were all created by God for a reason, and when we are living out that purpose, we feel the most alive. True happiness and contentment is experienced when we are effectively using our gifts and talents for God. Purpose involves a lifetime of reaching, exploration, and growing. Listening to the Holy Spirit in order to impact the lives around us, incorporating everything from technology to art to strategically communicate the good news of Jesus Christ.
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
We believe that the Church has been given apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists and pastors to train and prepare the people to spread the good news of Jesus Christ everywhere. Missional living is committed disciples of Christ preaching the good news with their lives to the people God has placed in their world, sharing the gospel natively in their context, lighting the way from death to life, living out the transforming message of resurrection. It is the lifelong task of working out our faith. Faith is not a destination but a journey. Change is embraced, innovation is expected, and rebirth is welcomed.
