Fly A Kite

Have fun learning and playing with your preschooler!

We are thrilled you attended Jubilee with your preschooler. While we will always strive to create awesome experiences for your child at church, we believe what’s happening in your home is way more important. No one has more influence in your child’s life than you! That’s why we want to help you continue having fun moments together at home.

First, watch the video to hear God’s truth in a way your preschooler can understand. Then, follow up with the fun activities below!

ACTS 2:42-47

Watch this week’s video!

“How wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.”
Ephesians 3:18, NIV

Who wants to be your friend forever?
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

When you go into your child’s room, say, “Good morning! We have SO much to celebrate because Jesus is alive and He wants to be our friend forever!”

Grab some bath crayons and take turns drawing pictures on the tub. Each time one of you draws a picture, tell each other all about it. As you dry your child off, tell them that Jesus has something He wants us to go and tell. Jesus wants us to go and tell everyone everywhere that He loves them and He wants to be their friend forever!

Cuddle with your child this month and pray, “Dear God, (name of child) and I want to love people the way Jesus taught us to love people. Please help us see the needs of others and be willing to share our clothes, food, and home to help others. Thank You for giving us Jesus to be our friend forever, and teach us how to be a good friend. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

As you drive or take a walk, talk about how Jesus did special things for His friends, the disciples, like make them breakfast on a beach. Next, talk about things you both can do to be a good friend. Jesus wants to be our friend forever and He wants us to be a good friend, too.

Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Say: "Since everyone needs clothes, and giving people clothes when they need them is one way we can love like Jesus, I thought we could make a list of clothing. It can be socks, shoes, a coat, shirt . . . anything that you wear. Tell me different kinds of clothing, and I will write it in our prayer journal. This is a great list of clothes! Let’s pray that we will love people the way Jesus loves us and help them have the clothes they need." Pray: “Dear God, thank You for giving us the clothes we need. Help us give people (read the list the child(ren) made) so they will have clothes and know how much Jesus loves them and wants to be their friend forever. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
Here is a fun activity you can do with your preschooler using things you already have at home.

One, Two, Three

No supplies needed.

Have your children stand with you in an open area of your home. Invite them to count to three then do a movement. For example, “One, two, three,” jump!

Possible movements: jump, twist, clap hands, stomp, run in place, jazz hands

Say, “What an amazing story! Can you remember how many days went by after they put Jesus in a tomb? (Pause.) Yes, three days went by. Let’s play a fun game while we count to three. We’ll count to three and then do a fun movement. Let’s try one together. First, we will jump. Here we go! One, two, three, JUMP! Great job! Let’s do another one! (Continue and finish activity.)

“Great job! In today’s story, some angry men took Jesus away and hurt Him so badly that He died. Three days went by. On the third day, Jesus came back, just like He said He would! Jesus is alive and He wants to be your friend forever! Who wants to be your friend forever? Jesus wants to be my friend forever.”

Sometimes it is easy to forget that you can win an argument but lose the heart in the process.
